Ben & Jerry’s Is Woke And Anti-Semitic
Conservatives have something to celebrate! Thanks to Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, right-leaning folks just saw their caloric ice cream intake go way down. Much like devouring a pint in one sitting, Conservatives will be sick after getting to the bottom of Ben & Jerry’s policies. You won’t be able to stomach another bite of Chubby Hubby, Cherry Garcia, Half Baked, or Chunky Money ever again.
It’s probably not shocking that a company with peace signs and tie-dye on the pint would lean Left. After all, the Vermont-based ice cream enterprise honors the late Grateful Dead frontman and “Casey Jones” singer Jerry Garcia with a flavor. Read the lyrics; much like the creamy calories, Mr. Garcia was sky high. It’s pretty clear that neither Ben nor Jerry (or the other singing Jerry) have much in common with Conservatives.
Lack of commonality and political ideology are not reasons to boycott a brand. Being Liberal isn’t the problem: Ben & Jerry’s has done far worse. Recently, Unilever, who owns the brand, told Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett that the company would no longer be selling its ice cream in what they call the “occupied” West Bank and “contested” east Jerusalem because such sales are “inconsistent with our values.”
This is anti-Semitic! Pennsylvania State Representative Andy Kaufer explains this best:
“The Boycott, Divest and Sanctions — or BDS — movement is little more than a poorly hidden Anti-Semitic economic attack,” Kaufer said. “It isn’t about Palestinian rights or a Palestinian state, but as backers of the BDS chant ‘the river to the sea,’ it’s about eliminating the Jewish people from Israel.”
So, if selling ice cream to Jews is inconsistent with their values, what are their values, other than blatant Anti-Semitism? Try a recipe of woke social justice, scientifically unsound environmentalism, and reverse racism. They support BLM, an organization that cares more about self-enrichment than supporting the actual needs of the black community. Ben & Jerry’s thinks that voting laws are racist, and they even drafted an opinion piece entitled “Why We Must Dismantle The Prison Industrial Complex.”
Click here to read more about their “values.” There, you will find a tab entitled “Our Progressive Values.” The language contained here is equally startling: “Capitalism and the wealth it produces do not create opportunity for everyone equally.” This is richer than an extra-large tub of Strawberry Topped Tart.
Ben & Jerry’s was a small Vermont ice cream company started by two childhood friends who took a correspondence course on Ice Cream Making at Penn State. One of the partners couldn’t taste, therefore they put chunks in the ice cream for texture. Fast forward, the business was purchased by Unilever for $326 million. This is the ultimate story of textbook Capitalism, success, and the American Dream. What their statement really means is that only they are deserving of the benefits of Capitalism. Now that they are rich, they know better than you; they control who deserves what. It is their philanthropy that will ascertain what you need.
What the limousine Liberal ice cream brand thinks we need are more flavors. Problem solved, introducing Ben & Jerry’s Pecan Resist, a sweet combo of nuts and cinnamon. According to the website, it supports “four organizations that are working toward a more just and equitable future and peacefully resisting the Trump administration’s regressive and discriminatory policies.” One of these four organizations enriched by the ice cream is the Women’s March, a pro-choice organization with a dark history of supporting baby killing and Anti-Semitism.
Sadly this is not a story about ice cream or even Anti-Semitism. It is a cautionary tale of American greatness gone to waste, hating everything that made you successful. Behavior like that of Ben & Jerry doesn’t make American a better place. It makes you disgusted by their product.
