No Class Until “Cops Off Campus”
Today, professors nationwide have promised to cancel classes on college campuses to protest the presence of police officers. Campus Reform reports the “National Day of Refusal” is an attempt to bring awareness to calls to remove police officers from university environments through asking students, professors, and faculty members to pledge to be absent “from work, class, teaching, and more.”
The petition circulating nationwide to encourage today’s strike has so far obtained more than 600 signatures from students, professors, and faculty members across America. It includes a list of demands, including:
1. We want ALL cops off of ALL campuses.
2. We demand the Land back
3. We demand investments in community safety and education
